I usually say that I "dabble" in art but I don't consider myself an artist. I'm trying to change that attitude. I am an artist. I'm no prodigy, and I'm not nearly as good of an artist as I would like to be, but I like learning and making, and that's all that really matters! My artistic work spans the visual arts, literary arts, and performing arts. I have too many interests to master any one of them, but I'd like to continue to practice and improve what I already know. I am partially self-taught, but it depends on the medium. So far, I have experience in:
> drawing, painting, printmaking, calligraphy
> photography (and photo editing), graphic design, digital illustration, basic animation, video editing
> sculpture, ceramics, earring-making, wood turning, lasercutting, miscellaneous crafting (e.g. making coasters, ornaments, small tabletop decorations, ornate greeting cards), ShoreRoadArt
> poetry, creative nonfiction, journalism
> singing, ukulele, flute, songwriting/composition, music arranging
Next on the list for what I'd like to learn is glass working, welding, embroidery, playing the piano, crochet, felting, audio mixing, wood burning, carving, bronze casting, engraving, and 3D printing design. And after I've had my hand at those, who knows what's next?
